A stroke can affect your vision if it damages the parts of your brain that process visual information, potentially causing blurred vision, double vision, or visual field loss. These problems may be temporary or permanent depending on the stroke’s severity and location. However, there is no evidence that a stroke causes cataracts. If you experience vision changes after a stroke, the Stroke Association can provide advice and support.
