INR - can I still have cataract surgery if my INR is out of range?

If you take blood-thinning medication, let the pre-assessment team know and continue your usual medication until advised otherwise. Before your surgery, your anti-coagulation clinic will need to provide a recent INR result, ideally within a week of your operation. If your INR is out of the safe range, contact your cataract team so the surgeon can decide whether to proceed or reschedule your surgery.
