Now Open: SpaMedica Croydon – Helping Local Patients See More Clearly
We’re excited to announce the opening of our brand-new SpaMedica hospital in Croydon, bringing faster access to NHS eye care for patients across South West London.
Located just five minutes from West Croydon station, the new hospital offers treatment for cataracts and posterior capsule opacification (YAG laser capsulotomy). With a welcoming team and modern facilities, we aim to make every patient feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
Fast, expert care – with support every step of the way
At SpaMedica Croydon, NHS patients can now be seen for treatment in as little as four weeks, compared to the 18-week national target. We also offer free door-to-door transport for those who need help getting to appointments, along with complimentary on-site parking.
We’re proud to join SpaMedica’s national network of 64 hospitals, all committed to delivering exceptional outcomes and patient-centred care. In fact, 98% of patients who reviewed us on the NHS website gave a five-star rating.
One of those patients, Mr Stacey, had his cataract surgery at our nearby Bromley hospital:
“I had the cataract in my right eye removed recently and the service was first class. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and my eyesight is now very good. This is the second time I have been to SpaMedica and both times the appointment came quickly and the staff have been excellent.”
Designed for the Croydon community
With around 13.9% of Croydon residents aged 65 and over, we know that many local people may require cataract surgery in later life. That’s why we’re here – to help more people stay independent, confident and active through improved vision.
Our Hospital Manager, Chelsea Jenkins, shared:
“We’re thrilled to open our new eye hospital in Croydon, where we’ll be working in partnership with the NHS to reduce local waiting times for treatment. We’re looking forward to helping residents to see more clearly again and I know our experienced team are committed to delivering the best possible care to our patients.”
