SpaMedica is currently the number one provider of cataract surgeries for NHS patients in the UK; with 60 plus hospitals based across the North West, the Midlands, Yorkshire, the South East and the South West.

The lecture will provide knowledge on cataract extraction, complications and appropriate management ensuring that patients with any form of complication post-surgery are returned to their consultant in a timely and effective manner. The training involves a lecture given by a Consultant Ophthalmologist over a live stream followed by a Q&A session with ophthalmologist as we examine and check the health of the eye post-surgery in a structured format starting with the front of the eye through all sections to the back of the eye to be able to report a consistent post-operative finding. This will improve community optometrist knowledge and thus provide enhanced care for their patients. Kept up to date with data provided from the outcomes of cataract patients from the largest provider of cataract surgery in the UK.
