On Wednesday 15th January 2020 SpaMedica Sheffield celebrated their 5,000th patient to be treated for cataracts. It was a very proud day for everyone in Sheffield including the team and patients, with Penny Hughes being the 5,000th patient to receive treatment at the SpaMedica eye hospital.
Penny was presented with a certificate by Hospital Manager, Victoria Reeder, who stated: “We are thrilled to reach the 5,000th patient milestone. We wanted to make this a special day for our patients and our staff, and treat everyone to cakes, chocolates and fruit. The team work extremely hard to provide quality care for our patients, so it was great to celebrate this with everyone.”
Penny’s story is familiar to many patients, whose eyesight is affected by cataracts and have trouble with day-to-day activities. She was delighted with the outcome of her surgery and receiving her certificate.
Well done Sheffield, keep up the good work!
