On Wednesday 31st August SpaMedica Manchester celebrated their 10,000th patient to be treated for cataracts. It was a very proud day for everyone in Manchester including the team and patients, with John Lowe being the 10,000th patient to receive treatment at the SpaMedica eye hospital.
John was presented with a certificate by Chief Implementation Officer Belinda O’Brien, who stated: “Since opening in 2008 we now have 13 hospitals with more in the pipeline, but we are so proud that the founding hospital that we know as the start of SpaMedica has reached such a key milestone. We wanted to make this a special day for our patients and also our staff, as we believe our success is down to all of them and the passion and love they have for each other and every patient who walks through our doors. A huge congratulations, and a sincere thank you for celebrating this special day with us as our 10,000th patient!”
John’s story is familiar to many patients, whose eyesight is affected by cataracts and have trouble with day-to-day activities. John was delighted and more than happy to share his SpaMedica journey with the team, commenting: “I’ve been here twice, this is my third visit here and the staff have been very attentive each time, and that helps put people at ease I think.”
“I’m just amazed really, I’m not the sort of person that these things usually happen to. I can’t wait to tell the family when I get back home!”
