We operate social distancing in our hospitals – this means maintaining a 2-metre distance between yourself and staff/other patients, where possible.
You’ll see social distancing signage throughout the hospital – please respect the 2-metre social distancing guidance throughout your time in the hospital.
We’ve rearranged all our hospital waiting rooms, spacing out all of the seating, so you’ll always be at least 2 metres away from other patients whilst waiting.
Patient appointments are being spaced apart to limit the number of people in the hospital at any one time – that’s why it’s important for you to arrive on time for your appointment, but NOT earlier.
This is also why we can’t allow relatives and companions to wait in the hospital – they can accompany you to reception, but no further, and will be asked to leave the hospital at this point. We’d like to reassure you that if you need any help, our staff will support you and we have wheelchairs and staff in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) who will assist you, if required, throughout your appointment.
The only exception to the above is if you have a power of attorney in place; and we ask you to please send us the legal documentation for this before your appointment.
This also means that we can only allow three patients at a time on our SpaMedica buses, without relatives or companions.
The three patients travelling are assigned seats apart from each other, and you’ll be asked to use hand sanitiser, put on a face covering and your temperature will be checked before getting on the bus.
You’ll receive a phone call 24 hours before your appointment to confirm your pick up time and discuss the COVID-19 processes used on our SpaMedica transport.
Our hospitals are all COVID-secure – we don’t treat any COVID-19 patients.
