Mr Stringa is a substantive consultant ophthalmologist, specialising in complex cataract surgery and glaucoma at the University Hospital, Southampton. He underwent his core training in Ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Pavia, Italy and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He further specialised in glaucoma and complex cataract surgery at Nottingham University Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Stringa is the Lead for the Eye Theatres at Southampton General Hospital, one of the largest tertiary referral centres in the Southwest. He is an active member of various bodies, including the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the UK and Eire Glaucoma Society and European Glaucoma Society. He regularly publishes articles in international scientific journals and gives talks on glaucoma and cataract surgery at national and international conferences.
