For such a routine procedure by most ophthalmic surgeons, and considering it only takes less than 10 minutes for each eye, there is little justification for our current waiitng times as experienced on the cataracts NHS waiting list.
Each NHS trust comes with it’s own challeneges, and it’s not for us to speculate what may be causing such long wait times as displayed openly by NHS UK.
What we can speak on however, is that SpaMedica has remained consistently the best ctaract surgery provider. Excelling against public as well as private healthcare providers.
Once we receive the referral letter, the start of treatment is within 2 weeks. From referral to treatment are beating the NHS elective care waiting time targets by over 50%.
